Nariyal (Coconut) laddoos are made all over the India. This is a traditional Indian dessert. Coconut is one of the most auspicious fruit for Indians, and used for almost all the religious ceremonies. Ingredients
(makes 11)

  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • Milk 3 cups 750 ml
  • Sugar ¼ - ½ cup
  • Green cardamoms 4-5
  • Coconut powder about 2 tbsp for rolling the ladoos

Method of preparation

  1. Remove the outer green cover of the cardamoms and grind them in the mortar.

  2. In a heavy bottom pan boil milk with grated coconut. After the first boil reduce the heat and cook coconut in the milk until the coconut absorbs the entire milk. The total process takes about  1 hour and 30 minutes.

  3. Now add sugar and mix well. Cook for another 5-7 minutes. Now turn of the heat.

  4. When the mixture is not hot but still lukewarm add cardamoms. Make small ladoos.

  5. Roll the laddoos in the dry grated/powdered coconut to coat them.

Delicious coconut laddoos are ready to serve.
